It's Mac's Birthday

Postby Robert Tawton » Fri 20 Feb 2004 8:32 am

Hi All,
RT Ch Kadnook Justcallme Mac turns 12 today, February 20, 2004. :D

During the 2003 season, Pam and I jointly decided that the 2003 National Retrieving Trial Championship would be the “old man’s” swan song and he would retire from active competition. Since taking this decision, we have been pleasantly surprised by the number of requests for details of his competitive career.

Mac won four State Championships: SA in 97 & 99; Qld in 98; Vic in 99.

He was Runner Up in a total of 11 State Championships: SA in 2001; ACT in 95, 96 and 2001; NSW in 95: Vic in 99 and 2002; QLD in 99, 2000 and 2001; Tas in 97.
In addition, he gained approximately 120 Championship points in All Age events from 1995 through 2003(in the early years my records are not as good as they should have been).

In 2000 at the NSW Royal Easter Show he won the inaugural title of Australian Diving Dog Championship.

Happy Birthday to Mac!

I'm very impressed that you are retiring him at AGED 12! Well done for keeping Mac's mind and body active, he has repaid the debt nicely too with all of those wins and placings - I especially love the Diving Dog title! :D

I recently retired my old tart Amber at aged 13 (Monterey Amber Field QC) - those senile cataracts have affected her eyesight but the nose still works really well...

Happy retirement Mac!

Cheers
Karen.

Happy birthday Mac.

What a great dog, with a very well educated/dedicated trainer.

Bob, I will never forget staying with you and Pam, before your retirement. You got up from bed the last morning of our stay, I think you were flying to Melbourne? at 6am. You trained Mac before the start of your working day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, and that was a Monday after a weekend trial and bar-b-que at your home for everyone on the Saturday.
