The sad news has just come through that Laurie passed away this morning.

His presence and sportmanship will be very much missed by all of us.

At peace.

Sad to hear about Laurie, but we are sure he is enjoying the greatest duck swamp ever, somewhere up there.

Laurie Cook

Postby Robert Tawton » Tue 09 Mar 2004 9:17 pm

Roy Davies telephoned late last week to advise that Laurie's prognosis was not good. I subsequently had along conversation with Laurie and I must say he was in great spirits, especially when we touched on his favourite topic of "living lines on marks".
Always the gentleman and he will be sorely missed.

What a very sad day indeed! Laurie will always be fondly remembered for his tremendous love of life and easy-going ways. We will miss his charming smile and friendly nature - trials just won't be the same....

Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to Laurie's family.

Teresa,

Laurie's request has been for a private cremation. Should anything else occur we will post the details on the site and contact a few people by phone and ask that the word be spread.

Andrew and I are deeply saddened to hear of Laurie's passing.

What a great combination he and Emma were.

He will be remembered with a smile. We will remember Laurie's kindness, love of outdoor life and travel. We will remember Laurie visiting us at trials even in the middle of his various treatments. We will remember Laurie forever.

We hope you find many labradors and trout on your trip.

Deeply saddened to read of Laurie's passing, he always had a smile and joke and more importantly, a hug for the ladies when we caught up with him from interstate. Please, anyone allowed to the private cremation pass on my sympathy. Bye Laurie, not forgotten by many NSW triallers, especially me.

I've holding Laurie in my thoughts all week, as others have said , always a smile , always a greeting. He and Emma will be sadly missed.
The ducks and trout in heaven must be wondering what's hit them.
We won't forget you Laurie.

On behalf of the South Australian retrieving fraternity, I send deepest sympathy to Laurie's family. He was greatly respected and fondly thought of here in S.A. and we warmly welcomed his smiling face and friendliness.
It was our good fortune to have known him and he will not be forgotten.
