Jack Montasell's Health

Postby John Lawton » Tue 05 Oct 2010 9:01 pm

As you may be aware Jack Montasell has had a melonama removed from near his left ear, subsequently he was admitted to the Peter McCullum Cancer Hospital for further treatment.
We visited Jack in hospital on Monday morning.
He was sitting up reading the paper when we arrived and he was pleased to see us. Jack looked normal except with a large bandage covering his head and left ear area. The surgeon said the operation was successfull.

Jack will be in the hospital for a few more days, loving the food and the service, "beats a jam sandwich says he"

He did ask me to pass on his thanks to all the triallers who wish him well.

A little trivia - Above the bed head is the doctors name who is looking after him, then just below that is the name "John Montasell". Vicky queried this and Jack says that it is his actual name - John not Jack Montasell. Jack also says the Victorian Championship held this last weekend is the first he has not attended since JC was a pup. Little things like this come to light eventually.

We will keep the triallers informed with respect to his health.

Regards
John

We wish you well Jack.

Thanks for the update John. however there is more to Jacks problem than the Melanoma,he has also had a Pace Maker inserted as his heart missed a bit or two after the operation and while he was in the ICU Unit. So it looks like Jack will be battery driven from now on. we did mention to him that he may not need his ETag, to come across town any more, which gave him a laugh at the time.
his last words to us were he is glad to be home , and pleased to be able to get back to his normal routine
Cheers to all

Hi Folks,
Just an update on Jack, I spoke to him last night, he had been to Peter Mac's for a check up and he was in good form, he received a good report from his specialist. He said he was looking forward to going to the Irish water Spaniel Trial this week end.
Cheers,
Pauline

Jack braved the cold (snow even) miserable conditions over the weekend to run in Restricted both days - in other words, he seems back to his normal self!

I was very surprised to see Jack at the Trial at Pittong on the Weekend.
Having traveled from Adelaide myself and reading about Jack's health over the past few weeks, he was the last person I expected to See.

Keep up the Good Work Jack, you are an inspiration to us all.

Regards
Lyn
