Floods

Postby Judy Pannett » Fri 31 Dec 2010 9:21 am

Hoping that any fellow trialers & their families & dogs that are in flood affected areas are all safe & ok.
It must be devestating, I can't imagine having to leave your home & in some cases your animals.
We have the opposite here, temps in the high 30's & into the 40's. Keep looking outside hoping some idiot hasn't lit a fire.
Also would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Yes Judy, very much second your comments, it is hard for us to imagine what it is like to suffer from natural disasters such as flood, our thoughts are with the affected. Happy New Year to all, personally I think that 2010 was a great year, but who knows, maybe 2011 will be even better!

At the risk of sounding soppy, may we all appreciate the wonderful country that we live in and the wonderful dogs that share our lives.

Cheers,
Diane

For those that know the Bundaberg & Rockhampton triallers. Most off us were high & dry from flooding although very wet under foot.
Marg Sullivan however coped some serious water .Marg her sister & brother inlaw & 5 dogs were evacuated from her house by SES as the water lapped the 8th step of her 15 step Queenslander. The water didn't make it into the house but Marg had a lot of white goods mowers etc under the house & a shed she had just converted into a office come sitting room with computers, paper work, furniture etc to be covered by roughly 6 ft of water. We did some serious cleaning & throwing yesterday & my washing machine hasn't stopped all day.
John Palu's property has some serious washing from local water for those that know the property 8ft deep gutter across the road to Custard Apple orchard & some seriously wet caneland.
Have spoken to Paul Towning he & Bernadette are fine high & dry Pauls helping with emergency power advise in his job with Ergon Energy. Water still hasn't peeked in Rocky yet.
Amazing where the water got too not a sight we wish to experience again .
cheers Wendy
