HUNTING WITH DOGS RESEARCH PROJECT
A PhD student with the School of Environmental and Rural Science at the University of New England is looking for hunters who use dogs to participate in a survey as part of her research to understand the extent of hunting dog use in Australia and the distances hunters move their dogs for hunting purposes.

Has anybody actually looked at this "survey" about hunting dogs? The questions are very few, limited in topic, and appear to be targeted towards "feral" hunters rather than those who actually put a bit of time in to having trained dogs, which will lead to a pleasant day out hunting.
My impression was that the questions were framed more around the idea of preventing dogs from being used for hunting, rather than a genuine curiosity about the use of gundogs by ethical hunters.
Or am I just being paranoid?

Hi Jadine
There is a possibility that you might be right, but the more people who respond to the survey with comments about retrieving dogs and why they shouldn't wear collars etc then the more likely it is that people will understand what 'gundogs' are all about.
