Competition Throwers

Hello,

Just want to get the opinion of members regarding bird throwers/competition throwers. I would like to buy one for training with my GSP, maybe a remote one (as I usually train by myself) but I can only find one manufacturer.

http://www.specdog.com.au/files/new%20M ... 14%201.pdf

Are there some other options available? I want to be able to throw real birds (dead pigeons) a decent distance.

Thanks,

Michael

Bit disappointed that there have been no replies to your question.

My thrower that we used when you came training with me recently is from specialised dog accessories. It is used by a lot of trialers & clubs around Australia. As you probably saw on John Lawton's website, there is a remote system available for the thrower. The thrower works well with dummies & birds.

One of the trialler's here in SA has a "Zinger winger" that she got from the USA. It has a great remote system & is very efficient.
Check it out on the web.
If you are interested in seeing it, contact me. Think she would be happy to show it to you.

keep up the training

Gail

Hi Gail,

Wow sorry for my late reply, I haven't been on here to check lately.

Yes I have contacted Specialized I just thought I would ask the question if anyone else is using other product. I have seen the Zinger Winger too, would have been better is the Australian Dollar didn't tank :(

I think the Specialized is probably the right thing, it is a local product of course and seems the majority of trials use them.

Thank you, catch you soon.

Michael

Hi Michael,
The throwers from SpecDogs are great value , you have quite a few options regarding the electronics, I have adapted Dogtra electronics as I can run up to 10 throwers from one hand control if required. These are quite compact and have a plug in recharge system, good distance out to three hundred if required and have a beeper button or duck call when required, they do kits of 1-4 receivers to one hand transmitter. Lion Country was where mine were purchased.
I can email photos of the set up and servo release motor if required, 5 minutes to set up initialy.
