Goodbye to R.T. Champion

Postby Kerry Webster » Fri 18 Mar 2005 6:42 pm

Hi All,

I thought it appropriate to let all of you know that Paddy Brendish lost his Golden Retriever, R.T.Champion Dancingate Templa Troyce CM, on November 7th last year.

Paddy is well known to most of the serious triallers out there, and has been competing in trials down the Eastern border, and in W.A. with his dogs for many, many years.

Paddy and McGinty were a regular sight at the Nationals and State Championship trials, and although retired from National competition after the 2001 Nationals, McGint was still competing regularly in W.A. through 2002, then despite his advancing arthritis, he managed to compete in, and win, two W.A. State Championships, and appear at other larger trials once or twice a year.

Sadly, McGinty collapsed suddenly at home, on November 7th 2004. Paddy and his wife Jenny, rushed him off to the Vet, but McGinty died enroute. He was 11 years old (Not old by any means).

As the majority of All Age trialers, especially those who have competed at National level, are familiar with McGinty and know Paddy Brendish, I thought it only apt that this grand dog of the retrieving world get a sendoff on this site.
