RESTRICTED LEVEL TRAINING DAY - IN VICTORIA
Expressions of interest are required to determine if there is enough competitors requiring for this type of training.

The VCA RAFT retrieving delegates are planning on holding a training day to help those competitors who are currently interested in restricted level training. Ideally this would suit competitive novice dogs that are steady to shot and can complete most novice standard marks as well as current restricted dogs looking to advance into All Age or those struggling to complete All Age.

Venue: Bendigo Area (Camping available on the site.)
Date: March 4th and 5th.
Start time 1.00pm on Saturday finishing Sunday afternoon.

Training will be tailored to restricted level dogs only.

Experience handlers will be available to assist in concepts and training options. All participants will have the opportunity to handle their own dogs over various training excerises.

BBQ facilities will be available for a BYO BBQ Saturday night.

Cost: $10.00 per head includes BBQ lunch on Sunday.

Please email Margaret Hall on bambillay@optusnet.com.au or gstawton@bigpond.com if you are interested in attending. Places are limited.

All those who apply will be notified if the weekend is going ahead.

If you have a particular training request please feel free to let us know and where possible this will be included in the weekend.

Margaret this is an excellent initiative by the RAFT but am not sure how you will cover such a wide level.? Novice dogs going into Restricted are at a completely different skill level (except possibly top AA handlers with young dogs) than those with RRD struggling to complet AA. I definitely fit in to the latter group :( Prue

Prue,

The principles of training are the same for all dogs. If a dog is struggling to finish AA then most probably there is parts of its early restricted work that are either missing or not done properly. Therefore they may need to step backwards for a little while in order to progress. Also part of this weekend may also assist people with the "art" of handling. Which is an often forget part of the handlers side of this team sport.

This weekend is definately going ahead. Anybody interested in coming for just one day that would be fine as well. For those already registered details and directions will be forwarded in the next couple of days. Anyone else still thinking you better hurry as places are filling up fast.
