RESULTS - GIPPSLAND OBEDIENCE DOG CLUB

The weather forecast was for showers and 14deg. but thankfully it turned out to be so much better. We started off with THICK fog which settled for a little while, disappeared and came again. When it finally lifed the sun started to peak through some of the grey cloud cover. During the course of the day it just improved and coats and vests were scattered around. The GODC members put on a marvelous roast lunch and dessert for the judge and helpers and a large variety of food in the canteen kept everyone happy. We are very lucky at this club as we have a great team of enthusiastic helpers who were more than happy to assist in the running of this event. Thanks also must go to a few of the visitors who also assisted in set up and on throwers. Access to farm land is at the back of our grounds which makes it easy for everyone to be close to facilities. Our trophy table was well stocked and a few breed clubs assisted in donating a sash or award to their highest scoring dogs.
After receiving a welcome to the club, our judge for the day Mrs Kate Eltringham gave a briefing on how the day would run.
Kate had a lovely variety of gundogs to judge from an entry of 21 Novice and 5 Open with all being present. Our breeds entered were 2 Weimaraner, 2 Weimaraner (Longhair), 3 German Shorthaired Pointer's, 2 English Springer Spaniel's, 6 Golden Retriever's, 1 Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, 7 Labrador Retriever's, 1 Pointer, 2 Hungarian Vizsla's.
This trial saw the first dogs in Victoria awarded the NRA title. Our winning dog in Novice was so outstanding that she could not be faulted throughout all the exercises. We look forward to seeing her in Open and at retrieving trials. We also had our first associate entries (2 labs, 1 Vizsla).

Thankyou Kate, everyone had an enjoyable day.

We had a large amount of photographs taken by our clubs expert photographers and when they are sent through to me I will add some to the site. Thankyou all for making the effort to come to the country. We will do this again and look forward to your visit.
