Friday January 26

Beginners: Mr J Montasell 13 entries, no scratchings
1st A Jervic, Britinnki Elle, Brittany bitch 94 points
2nd D McCann, Yorifeld Drummer Boy, GSP dog, 93 pts
3rd C Robb, Greytrieve Louise Joy, Weimaraner bitch, 92 pts
Sorry, don't have 4th marked on my catalogue.

Interesting stats in regards to the breeds entered in this beginners, 7 GSP's, 2 Labs, 1 Wei, 1 Golden, 1 Brittany and 1 Gordon Setter (yes, that is correct, a Gordon Setter). Out of interest the Gordon completed both runs and certainly looked as though it knew what it was out there to do. This dog is a dual champion with a show and tracking title, has its CDX, AD & JD and is now giving retrieving a go at 6 1/2 years of age.

Novice: Mrs M Hall 19 entries, no scratchings
1st D Wilkie, Conningsnburgh Bon Chance, Lab dog, 144 pts
2nd R Tawton, Kadnook Kwik Sand, Lab Dog, 141 pts
3rd B Higginbothan, Finepoint Fun Wiziad, GSP dog, 140 pts
4th R Thomas, Quailblazer Supre NFD, GSP bitch, 139 pts

11 GSP's, 6 Labs, 1 Wei, 1 Brittany

Restricted: Mr E Dell 14 entries, no scratchings
1st G Tawton, Kadnook River Country, Lab dog, 148.5 pts
2nd W Parkinson, Terraway Total Eclipse, Lab dog, 139.5 pts
3rd W Parkinson, Terraway Moonshine, Lab dog, 130.5 pts
4th N Lacey, Ch Greywei Bahama Sunrise CD, Wei bitch, 127 pts

Congratulations to Gareth and River as this win gives Riv his RRD.

5 Labs, 3 Goldens, 2 GSP's, 1 Pointer, 1 Wei, 1 Vizsla
It was nice to see Wayne Parkinson back at a retrieving trial after an extended absence, perhaps his good results will see his enthusiasm renewed.

Saturday January 27th

Novice: Mr B Kendall 21 entries, 1 scratching
1st N Green, Reveirter Wine Shiraz, Lab dog, 130 pts
2nd D Furnell, Woundella Len CDX ET, Lab dog, 129 pts
3rd R Tawton, Kadnook Kwik Sands, Lab dog, 126 pts
4th D McCann, Yorifeld Drummer Boy, GSP dog, 125 pts

I'm not sure how many seconds Dean has now had with this dog but it is lots! Must be getting frustrating Dean - your time will come.

11 GSP's, 7 Labs, 1 Wei, 1 Golden, 1 Brittany

All Age: Mr J Hargreaves, 13 entries, 1 scratching
1st R Tawton, Gr RTCH Kadnook King Of Kanbera DM, Lab dog, 150 pts
2nd M Davis, Ntls RTCH Beereegan One Tree, Lab dog, 142 pts
3rd G Tawton, Gr RTCH Kadnook Pride O Cork, Lab dog, 139 pts
4th R Tawton, RT CH Kadnook Tanks Aheap, Lab dog, 136 pts

11 Labs, 1 GSP

Many thanks to Eric and Byron for stepping in at short notice.

I realise that there were a number of handlers who were disappointed that we did not run two All Age stakes at this trial. Those who attended will realise that running an All Age on Friday would have meant dropping two other stakes on that day. When you have a look at the entries of GSP's in the stakes that we did run Friday, you can see that the end decision was justified.

It was a great weekend, thanks to everyone who contributed.

Would like to suport Diane's comments. It was great to see the variety of breeds and especially to see the GSP owners supporting our club so well.
