QUALIFICATIONS: A ‘NOVICE STAKE’ is a stake confined to Gundogs that have not won any stake other than two (2) Novice Stakes. (‘Beginners’ Tests excluded.)
A ‘RESTRICTED STAKE’ is a stake confined to Gundogs that have not won three (3) Restricted Stakes or an All Age Stake or been placed first or second in a Championship Stake.
An ‘ALL AGE STAKE’ is a stake confined to Gundogs that have won a Novice or have been placed first, second or third in a Restricted Stake.

TRIAL VENUES: Properties used for Trials are private properties and MUST NOT be revisited after the trial. Entry for the Trial is subject to this condition.

Hi all,

This trial will be held at the normal traralgon trial site. Recent wet weather has this trial site in excellent condition so we have decided to use it at its best. I will get proper directions posted soon.

Hi all,

We have some last minute changes for the June trial.

John Stott (5191 8548) and Graeme Rogers (5127 5959) will be trial managers. Dianne McCann is unavailable for Novice sunday and Kate Eltringham will take her place.

Just so there is no confusion I will be judging a combined Novice/Restricted stake. This means that competitors can only enter a single stake, either Novice or Restricted, not both with the same dog.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the confusion (gee that sounds familiar) but as the Dogs Vic schedule was submitted without entry conditions we have decided it inappropriate to add them later. as a result it will be possible to enter both Novice and restricted stakes. We hope not, but this may result in us having to find another judge. Stay posted and we will clarify the judging situation as soon as possible.

Directions to site, please?

Hi Paula,

sorry I don't have exact directions only it is a few kms past loy yang power station which is well sign posted. I get there by nose so to speak. John Stott doesn't get on the net but if you call him he will give full directions. See my previous post for his number.

Confirmed changes to novice judges is as follows. R. Tawton (ACT) will judge novice on saturday and Richard Carr will judge Sunday. Catering will be available both days.

Directions to LRCV Trial. Traveling from Melbourne take a right turn at the 1st set of lights in Traralgon (signs will tell you that you are headed for Loy Yang) travel 1km then turn right ar the roundabout. Follow this road toward the Loy Yang power station. From the power station it is 6.8 km so Scales road on the right and then a further 1.9 km to the turn off to Melton Park on the left. Take this turn off and the camp site will be seen on your right

Sorry but we have yet another change of judge. Kate Eltringham''s father has taken ill and Kate will not be able to make the trial. Marg Hall will take over as Restricted judge Sunday.

Apparently the trial site is very very wet. Bring you gum boots.....
