Retrieving Club W.A. Novice & Restr. trial 17/4/11

Postby Kerry Webster » Mon 18 Apr 2011 12:20 am

The Retrieving Club of W.A. held their first trial for the 2011 season on the river at Upper Swan. As people would be aware, there have been drought conditions in W.A. and because of the lack of rain the river levels are suffering and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find sites with enough water for testing the dogs in their retrieves. The site chosen for today's trial has some areas of water still available and so the dogs were able to be tested in some form. A very humid day made it sticky, hot, and uncomfortable for all, but it was encouraging to see several young dogs new to the scene, competing in their first Novice trial. Thanks to Terry, Alison and Martyn for giving up their Sunday to work today. Results are following:

PAUL JANSEN NOVICE STAKE
Judge: Dr Michael Byrne
Chief Steward: Michael McClure

Dogs entered: 14
Started: 13

1st: Terranaut Knockout Punch (Lab.Ret. Dog) Judy Pannett 193 points

2nd: Boomermagic Halloween Hero QND (Lab.Ret.Dog) Allan Bartram 193 points

3rd: Dual Ch Casblaidd Mondays Rebel (Imp UK) QND (Flat Coated Ret. Dog) Marilyn Dawson 190 points

Fourth place went to Celabration Tas to Win and Rebecca Cowper with 189 points.

RESTRICTED STAKE
Judge: Dr Michael Byrne

Dogs Entered: 10

1st: Flamerin Happy Blaze (Gold. Dog) Paddy Brendish 179 points
This win would be NRD for Blaze and Paddy.

2nd: Boomermagic Halloween Hero QND (Lab.Ret.Dog) Allan Bartram 179 points

3rd: Ch Wauchope Kicking Bird NRD ET (Brittany Sp. Dog) Eleanor Johnson 162 points

fourth place went to Burberry Balvenie and Rob Jowett with 149 points.

Kerry,

Do I take it from the scores that Allan lost a run off in both novice and restricted

That's right Gareth. Both stakes had run offs and Allan and Finn came second in both. He now has a "red" room at home.

Judy,

Do I take it from that that you really really really did NOT want him to win the novice run off :?: I wonder why :?:
congratulations must go to the winner of the novice. They must have really really really wanted to win....
