Dogs Victoria 2012 State Championship

Postby Kate Eltringham » Tue 09 Oct 2012 8:17 pm

The 2012 Dogs Victoria State Championship was held at Kevin and Alice Knight’s property at Pittong. The property has all types of cover and terrain which allowed for a variety of runs to be set to test the dogs. Unfortunately the weather was very wet on Saturday, with showers on Sunday. The sun did break through briefly on Sunday which was pleasing to see.
A number of trialers attended to assist with stewarding over the weekend. A big thank you to Brian, Leanne, Trevor Stevens, John, Sally, Nick and also to Greg P. Thank you also to the trial managers Noel Eltringham and Peter Eley who ensured everything ran smoothly through out the two days.
There were 25 competitors entered, 3 scratchings so the trial commenced with 22 dogs.

Run 1 – Triple mark incorporating a walk up and small relocation on land. One dog failed to complete the run with the top scoring dog being John Stott and Milly (Rt Ch Kadnook Dream Alil Dream).

Run 2 – Two bird and a blind across the creek. Six dogs failed to complete the run with the top scoring dog being Mark Davis and Scout (Ntl Rt Ch Beereegan Last Boy Scout).

Run 3 - A rabbit blind, mark with a diversionary bird on land. One dog failed to complete this run with the top scoring dog being Kerry Webster and Diamond (Rt Ch Truclass Whiz Kid)

At the completion of the first three runs the there were two dogs leading Jim Hargreaves and Mav (Rt Ch Winterset Moon River) and Kevin Andrews and Lucy (Adderslot Lucy RRD). 14 dogs were to start day 2.

Run 4 - Double blind and mark across the creek. Three dogs failed to complete this run with the top scoring dog being Mark Davis and Scout (Ntl Rt Ch Beereegan Last Boy Scout) .

Run 5 – Double fall and rabbit blind. Two dogs failed to complete this run with the top scoring dog being John Stott and Milly (Rt Ch Kadnook Dream Alil Dream).

Run 6 – Mark and blind with the blind to be retrieved from water. All dogs completed this run with the top scoring dog being Mark Davis and Scout (Ntl Rt Ch Beereegan Last Boy Scout).

Thanks Kate,

For those of us that did not attend its great to see a bit of detail in the results. Congratulations to the place getters, particularly Kevin, to finish with three dogs is an outstanding achievment.
