Gippsland Fires - GSP Vic Jan Trial

Postby Diane McCann » Mon 21 Jan 2013 10:57 am

At this stage the tiral site is safe but of course we do not know how the week will unfold. It will not be until Friday at earliest before we will know what the wind has done and if the trial will be able to go ahead, the final say will of course be with the property owner. We do not have another trial site available and cannot make preparations to hold the trial elsewhere, so please keep an eye on this site for updates and let us all keep our fingers crossed that this wonderful part of the world gets a good break.

The Heyfield fire is no longer burning and the fire still buring at Aberfeldy is quite a distance away and would have to burn back over a large area that has already been burnt before it was anywhere near the trial site. The property owners are comfortable that there is no danger and are happy for us to run the trial. Unless we have a new outbreak or an unexpected wind change we should be OK. If anything changes I will post on this web site and get the human telegraph into action. No news is good news from now on and see you all at the weekend.
