RESULTS: GSP Club SA Inc (Tolderol weekend)

The weather was perfect for trialling, the grounds were in very good nick, the catering (all weekend) was delicious, the company was great, and our judges put on some very good testing runs, suitable for each level of competition.
As we only had small fields, those competitors who failed early in the trial were able to run their dogs after the competing dogs - this was much appreciated by the competitors, some who had only recently been elevated to the next level of competition.
The GSP Club catered for our trial on Saturday, as well as the Labrador Club's trials on Sunday and Monday. This proved to be so successful that most exhibitors expressed their wish for this to happen at more of our trials.
Many thanks to Cheryl, her husband Graham, plus Helen, for your assistance with Saturday's BBQ, and to Hayley for her baking efforts with apple crumble cupcakes and gluten-free muffin supplies for the weekend. Cheryl had the catering completely under control on Sunday and Monday, when we also had on offer two soups, plus Robyn's delicious chilli con carne (which disappeared in no time at all).
Geoff Melville and Allan Puterill kindly made the trip down to steward all day, despite not having dogs to run, and with the enthusiastic assistance of the triallers, the day progressed without a hitch. Thank you also to Neville for procuring the birds (which were in beautifully clean and plump condition), and Dean for transporting them up to the trial site.
Results were:
Novice (judge John Nairn) - 9 entries
1st. Ch Bournbeau Beguilled By The Moon FSI THMS M Bourne 156 points.
2nd. Calendula Hunter (AI) M Mason 151 points.
3rd. Jamacar Always QND S Smith 145 points
4th GR CH Ghostwind Masterpiece ET CD TD NRA RE QC J Hughes 137 points.

** Congratulations to Margaret on attaining Gilda's NRD title ***

Restricted (judge Joe Barbour) - 6 entries
No finishers, although I believe that there are a couple of promising up and coming dogs at this level.

All Age (judge Jeff Patrick) - POLDEA PLATE - 7 entries
1st. RT CH Kadnook Sporting Spirit J & V Lawton 173 points
2nd. RT CH Reveirter Swan Hill N & K Eltringham 152 points.
3rd. Reveirter Loch Fyntalloch RRD N & K Eltringham 146 points.

A special mention must go to John Lawton and his dog, Ben, who consistently worked beautifully all weekend to take out the honours in all three All Age stakes.

Many thanks to our dedicated band of volunteers, the judges and competitors, Mrs Verco for the use of her property, and also to our very generous sponsors: Black Hawk premium dog food, Max Noske Butchers, Meadows Bakery, G&C Handyman Service, and Country Cake Creations.

Thanks Jadine for an interesting and informative report. Triallers in WA are keen to hear the details of trials in other states.I would have loved to be there with you.
