Postby Peter Butterfield » Wed 10 Sep 2014 9:36 am

Calling all NSW RT Championship observers...
Riding on the back of the success of the recent unofficial thread for the National, this thread has been opened for anyone willing to post progress reports from Harden this weekend.

All the best to the organisers and to everyone entered in the trial from
Retrieving Australia.

Hi Peter,

We will see what we can do if mobile coverage is ok at the runs. I understand there are 15 entries with dogs from Vic, Nsw and a couple of Qlders

14 starters nice sunny day light breeze. Cool this morning but headed to 19 degrees

Run 1 triple mark in a big gully running down the hill. It's quite steep and handler is on one side. Bird 2 throws from same side into a y in the gully back up the hill. Bird 2 lands on top on the opposite side and down the gully. Bird 3 throw from down the hill on the same side as the handler into the gully landing below bird 2. Pick up order 2,3,1.
We are at dog 4 all thru some with a couple of whistles for insurance.

It's a nice run to start a championship.

Run2 double blind either side of a rocky knoll and memory mark . Quite tight to put dogs in the blinds.
Lost one dog Paul Hampson. It is another nice run with plenty to judge from excellent to average.

Run 3
Distance entry water blind in some reeds. Walk up in water on right and long land mark on left . Pick centre long distance angle entry water blind first then the short walk up water mark and long land mark on left last .
Nice run to spectate and compete in. Half way to blind dog dips out of site for a while so they need to hold the line and not cut left into water mark.
