Congratulations to all finishers, great to see Gareth get the spoils after such an impressive effort in keeping the wider retrieving community informed with his splendid run descriptions! Congratulations Jack & Tsu, thank you for keeping NSW on the podium, you provide such inspiration to those taking up this endeavour with hopes of success. Finally thanks to Peter B for providing the impetus for the information to be shared in such a timely manner, it really has let me feel connected whilst being far away.

Thanks to everyone who took time out to bring the rest of us up to speed with the action this weekend. Special mention to Gareth for his illuminating commentary and photo-cartography efforts. Congratulations to all the finishers.

run 5 diversionary rabbit drag not to be picked up blind down the middle of the gully left and right mark either side of the blind. Dogs have to cross the rabbit drag and pass the diversionary rabbit several times after shooting it twice while the drag is in action. This run gave the young dogs a real mental work out while the older experienced campaigners did a great job..

Run 6 double rise landing in open water beyond reeds. Diversionary duck which comes into play if a dog runs bank on the way out or back. It was just visible to the competitors. harder for the vertically challenged. Di McCann regrets not buying those hi heeled gum boots. Important for the dogs to be hard charging and focused on both legs and the handler to be ready in case the dog appeared on the diversion.

Allen I had the easiest drive home so couldn't hit the beer tent but plan to have a few tonight.

Thanks to all those people from around the country who phoned text or emailed their congratulations.

A huge congrats to the management of the trial what a great job you did. Also Jim Hargreaves the judge, the winner is always happy but I'm sure the other competitors would agree it was a fantastic trial for dogs, handlers and gallery. Finally the other competitors, there was some fantastic dog work over the weekend from young and old alike. Certainly all the dogs in the last run had done some excellent work.

I have decided to go for platform gumboots Gareth, needed a good extra 5 inches! Congratulations to you, Jack, Karl and Wendy. Great effort from all of your dogs

Congratulations Gareth on your win. What an awesome achievement to bring such a young dog through from Novice at the 1st trial of 2014 to the final run of the Nationals and a State win with such amazing dogs to compete against! Only 19 months old!!!
Congratulations to all the other place getters. Obviously very worthy teams to finish on the podium. Well done to you all.
