Re: Directions to Gundog Society (NSW) May

Postby Peter Butterfield » Wed 20 May 2015 7:32 pm

I noticed directions to the Authursleigh Trial and camp site were not provided with my numbers as mentioned above. This is not the easiest location to find for the uninitiated, so if anyone is wondering where to go, follow these directions...

Entry to Arthursleigh will be via Arthursleigh Road [Do not use the Canyonleigh Road enrty]. From Marulan: At the intersection of George Street and Brayton Road, travel east on Brayton Road. After 1km turn right to continue on Brayton Road and travel for approximately 19.3 km (go straight through the "5 ways"). Continue straight onto Arthursleigh Road (Brayton Road will turn left). At the T intersection after approx 1.2km turn left to continue on Arthursleigh Road, there will be a right turn onto the property soon after. Continue approx. 5km to the Shearer's Quarters. Basically follow the main dirt road in staying to the left and you should get there.

...better still open this google map and search for directions from your starting point.

Good luck!

Thanks Peter
I was wondering how I would find the place after getting hopelessly lost one time.
I didn't get directions either.

CHANGE OF LOCATION

Postby Peter Butterfield » Fri 22 May 2015 9:07 am

Late Change to Gundog Society (NSW) - May Trial

Please note that the trial meeting and camping location has changed at the last minute and will NOT be on the Arthursleigh Road northern side of the property as previously planned.

The location will now be the “Pleasant View” sheds on the southern side that are reached via the Canyonleigh Road entrance to the property. Follow these directions…

Travelling from Sydney:

Take the Marulan exit (near truck weigh station) the exit it on the left and loops under the highway and becomes Brayton Road. Cross over the first intersection and travel 1km and turn right at the next intersection which continues as Brayton Road. Travel approximately 8km until you come to the "5 ways' intersection, turn right onto Canyonleigh Road. Travel along Canyonleigh Road for— 10km until you come to the "ARTHURSLEIGH" sign on the left hand side of the road. Turn left onto the property. The shearers quarters are about 1km along on the right and the meeting place for the trial. If you get to the houses you've gone too far. If you decide to come along Canyonleigh Road from the highway it is mostly dirt and there are 3 gates to open and shut, and the ARTHURSLEIGH sign will be on your right.

Travelling from Goulburn:

Take the Marulan exit on the left approximately 22km along the highway from Goulburn. Proceed through Marulan and turn left onto Brayton Road. Travel 1km and turn right at the next intersection which continues as Brayton Road. Travel approximately 8km until you come to the "Sways" intersecticn, turn right onto Canyonleigh Road. Travel along Canyonleigh Road Rot" 10km until you come to the "ARTHURSLEIGH" sign on the left hand side of the road. Turn left onto the property. The shearers quarters are about 1km along on the right and the meeting place for the trial. If you get to the houses you've gone too far.

Take care on the road into the property which can be quite slippery in parts when wet.

...better still open this google map and search for directions from your starting point.

GPS -34.594394, 150.057046

Good luck! (again)
