Message just in from the Convenor (JH)

" We're all organized. Only 9 left in unfortunately after receiving 3 scratchings...
1 Scr
2 Lab Dog
3 Golden Dog
4 Lab Bitch
5 Golden Bitch
6 Lab Bitch
7 Scr
8 Lab Dog
9 Lab Bitch
10 Scr
11 Lab Dog
12 Lab Dog
...was going to send the names of entries and owners but don't know if I'm allowed to under SACA Rules [ie unclear]?? "

Does anyone know if it's taboo to publish names of entries before a trial. It certainly makes it easier for non-attendees to follow events remotely if they are provided.

Morning all its cloudy with a light drizzle and light fluctuating breeze. The first run is a nice eye opener. Short Walk up, long mark 130m and mid mark about 90m. All dogs thru so far with the odd handle. We are at dog 8.

Run 2 was a fast rabbit drag across the front of the dogs which was not to be retrieved. We then shot at a blind to the left. Reload and a double mark straight beyond where the drag rabbit had gone. A lot of dogs seemed to be watching the ground where the drag had been and therefore weren't looking up enough to see both marks. Pick up last mark then other mark and blind last. All dogs got thru.

Run 3 is a double blind across a lagoon with a diversionary mark from one side of the lagoon to the other with the long blind under the arc of the mark. Originally the mark was to be picked up but a hawk keeps attacking the bird on the ground, so the judge has decided to leave it as a diversionary in case the bird is damaged or moved by the hawk. A draw was done for the starting dog which is dog 4 me with Hallie

It's a sunny morning with a light breeze today. There was some rain last night so the track in was very slippery but it should all dry out pretty quickly now.
Run 5 is a blind in the middle of two marks. The blind is 150 meters and there ins a splash of water that is out of sight of the handlers. The two marks ire relatively short but land perfectly to be a suction for dogs cheating the line to the blind. Pick up blind first then marks in any order.
