This thread has been opened for anyone willing and able to make progress reports from this weekend’s (17-18 Sep) Championship Trial to keep us informed.

The 2016 WA State Championship trial was held on the Mortlock River near Goomalling on the 17th and 18th September. Judging this event was Bill Hepburn (Tas) and he was supported by the trial manager, Ray Johnson and his helper, Louise Andrews-Adams. So many people came to help in the field at this trial, so without wanting to omit anyone, please all, accept our thanks for your participation in running our State Champs.

The weather was perfect all weekend, with freezing cold mornings and ice over the cars, progressing to a quite warm day. Mosquitoes were in abundance at the sites and were like world war 2 bombers in their aggression and size. They certainly kept the arms waving and slapping during the day.

Six runs were held in total, with three on the Saturday and three on Sunday. The cover on the site was heavy to say the least, and combined with large trees, medium shrubs and logs and gullies, it made for some interesting work from the dogs. Thank you to the State committee and all the sponsors of prizes and product. It certainly was an attractive trophy table.
