Where to purchase pigeons?

Would like to get my dog retrieving birds as opposed to a bumper and ive been told to start him on pigeons but have no idea where to find one that still has feathers!
I am in South East Victoria if that helps

Natasha - where exactly do you live? pigeons can be got from markets and some pet shops. If you can get to a trial, am sure you would be able to collect some at the end of the trial. Apart from that, if you live near any triallers, they might be able to give you some or tell you where they get theirs Prue.

I am in Pakenham.
He will only just be getting started on birds so i am after dead ones...preferably that i dont have to kill myself

Hi Natasha,
There is a "bird" auction held on Tuesday mornings in the middle of the factory district in Dandenong.
Every time I go, it is a trial, in itself!!!!!!!! Email if you wish the details.
