2021 Year in Review

RA Year in Review. 2021 The Year That Almost Was...

Well folks, it seems we have once again reached the end of our trialling season.
While a slightly better year trial-wise than last year for some, most states were again affected by Covid19 state border lock-downs and cancellations to some degree. Once again, most State Championships including the National were also casualties unfortunately. For those who enjoy demographics, trials by state (held / planned) were: ACT 0/0, NSW 12/23, QLD 16/18, SA 17/22, TAS 15/18, VIC 18/31, WA 25/25, ALL 103/137. 168 dogs that competed this year placed at least once.

Sadly, due to limiting factors for dogs to be fairly compared broadly, no RA Leaderboard Dog of the Year has been appointed again. Having said that, it would be remiss not to acknowledge the impressive performance of Nat Gr RtCh_Adderslot Maggie May (AI) DM ‘’Maggie’’ (Lab.B) and her loyal companion Mr Russell Whitechurch (VIC) who together managed to amass 123 leaderboard points and winn 10 AA trials held in 2 states. A great result under the circumstances.

Although it wasn't a good year for effective comparisons, the results of teams that did manage to place have been added to the RA Leaderboard archive and may also be viewed here, together with performances by dogs from each state.

So that’s all folks, with a majority of us now fully vaccinated hopefully 2022 will be the year trialling can fully return to normal. All the best and have a safe break.

Sincerely
Peter Butterfield
