Victorian State Championship held on 13th June 2009

Judge: Mr G Stephens

1st. J Camilleri - Zampgli Gemma NFD
No second place
3rd R Baranello - Pointgold Apollo NFD
This win gave Gemma her Field Trial Chmpionship Title - congratulations.

The judge would have deemed that no dog other than the winner had done work of a good enough standard to gain championship points (these are awarded to 1st & 2nd), and therefore he did not award a second place.

I agree that it would seem logical to award 2nd place with no points and no third, however this is obviously not how he decided to do it.

um... how is it practically possible to get 3rd place? What is that dog 3rd place to, when there's only one dog in front? If the 2nd place dog is deemed not worthy of Championship points by the judge then surely it either should be nil-awarded altogether or receive 2nd place with no championship points awarded.

Really must flick through the Field Trial rule book again - this seems bizarre to me... :shock:
