The Victorian Gundog Club's S & R trials went off without a hitch once we had decided it was impossible to access the rabbits at Yaloak due to all the rain. Instead went to Mrs Young's Mt Gorong property on the outskirts of Ballan where there were plenty of rabbits lurking in the tussocks only to sneak away after the dogs and people had moved through.
The weather was windy and cold making shooting difficult for both handlers and the extra shooters that were called up.
The overall accolade must go to Ray Matthews whose two bitches were first and second on Saturday, the older of the two also coming second on Sunday behind Rod Watt's dog.
Our thanks to the Judge Allan Dorahy, to the Manager/Steward Steve Sapsead and to Mrs Young for yet again welcoming us so warmly.

Results:
Saturday 21st Novice 8 entries. 7 starters
Winner: Ray Matthews' ESS bitch Rostulla Dainty Damsel
Runner up: Ray Matthews' ESS bitch Hunstrete Snow Caddis

QC's to Jack Montasell's Labrador bitch Kadnook Rosie's Magic AARD and Jamie Hutchesson's ESS dog Glastonpark Taffy

Sunday 22nd Open 9 entries all started
Winner: Rod Watt's ESS dog Walgeers Oscar
Runner up: Ray Matthews' ESS bitch Rosstulla Dainty Damsel

This win gave Walgeers Oscar his FTCh title
