Firearm:- Handler shall use their own licence Firearm.
Canine Firearms Indemnity form, must be filled out before the below applies.
(Handlers without Firearm or gun licence) In 1998 the CAWA was granted a Corporate Licence for ownership of the shotguns used by the Clubs which hold Retrieving/Field Trials. This means that a handler do not have to hold Firearm licence. However, handlers must be a member of the CAWA & only use the guns in Trials. All care must be taken to ensure we act responsible so we can continue to enjoy this advantage.
Venue & Vetting:- For Trials to be obtain by contacting the club, prior to the weekend on which the trial will be conducted.
Withdrawn from trials:- Competitor to check the correct procedure before withdrawing during the trial. (Rule for Conduct of Utility Field Trials)
Note: A separate entry form should be completed for each event & accompanied by the correct entry fees. All entry forms must be completed with all required details, including owners CAWA membership number & sign by the registered owner.
Private Properties used for trials by kind permission of the owners must not be revisited at any time, nor should the owner be approached re access without the prior permission of the property nominee. Please respect the properties in the usual way by picking up your litter, keeping to designated areas & leaving all gates as you find them.
