As the forecast for this weekend is currently at 33/34 degrees the sub-committee is looking at changing properties to allow for more shade.

The trial will still be held in the Yarck/Alexandra area but we will hold off posting directions until later in the week.

As stated in the schedule, the trial will begin as soon as is practical after vetting (7.00am-7.30am) so please don't be late.

Bacon and egg sandwiches will be available each morning for $2. There will also be a raffle so do bring your small change.

Leanne had planned to do her wonderful light catering for lunch but we are a little concerned about the heat, potential fire bans and lack of interest from competitors.
Can you comment below as to whether you would still be interested in purchasing lunch (perhaps made to order sandwiches) or slices? We will have cold drinks available to purchase as well.

Thank you.

The weather forecast is not ideal but it's currently below the 36 degrees cut-off dictated by the RAFT Extreme Weather Policy. Keep your fingers and paws crossed and we will post directions ASAP.

IMPORTANT! Earlier start time and property directions:

Due to the Weather Forecast and the guidelines set by RAFT's Extreme weather policy that apply to both days:

1. There will be a change in venue to Bronwyn McFadyen's property, "Willowbank", Whanregarwen Road, Alexandra
DIRECTIONS
From Yea – take the Goulburn Valley Highway towards Molesworth; approximately 300 m past Molesworth turn right onto Whanregarwen Rd (if you cross the river you’ve gone too far); the property is located approximately 13km from the turnoff on the left-hand side. If you reach Maroondah Hwy you’ve gone approximately 3km too far.

2. Camping - from 12pm, along the river - if Fire Ban in place, gas cooking is only permissible at The Cherry Shed*

3. Change of vetting time – now 6.30-7.00am - at The Cherry Shed*

4. Start time as soon as possible after vetting

5. Breakfast available from 6.30am - at The Cherry Shed*

6. Light catering and cold drinks available from Leanne - at The Cherry Shed*

7. Presentations - at Campsite (followed by RAFT meeting on Saturday)

8. Raffle - 20kg dog food, wine, dog treats $2/each or 3 for $5

9. Toilets - portable toilet at campsite and flushable toilet at The Cherry Shed*

*The Cherry Shed - just off main driveway of property on the right

Contact Julie or Sally with any questions! Thanks for your patience.

Just adding to this - when you are driving, PLEASE, safety is absolutely paramount. We would rather you be running late by a few minutes than not make it all. Message me on 0412 629 262 and we will do our absolute best to accommodate you.

Re: VGC RT 2nd & 3rd March 2019

PLEASE NOTE:

There were questions raised on Sunday by several competitors about the number and quality of the game provided in the Restricted stake. As Trial Manager and on behalf of the RT sub-committee I would like to clarify the following points:

1. There were 10 entries and we were made aware of 2 scratchings on Friday.
2. As per normal practice 2 items of game were allocated per entry for a total of 16 items of game.
3. Game was drawn from the same batch as Novice and All Age who reported no issues.
4. Absolutely no game was re-used from Saturday. Whilst there was game in good condition from Saturday that was set aside, the committee made the decision not to use it for the trial and to use fresh game instead.
5. The judge noted that a number of items of game were unable to be re-used as they were damaged (posted with the judge's permission).
6. Whilst I understand the concerns raised, the committee is unable to respond to these concerns AFTER the stake has been completed. All members of the committee were busy stewarding in various stakes, attending to lunches/presentations or competing. Had we been notified we would have organised some replacements.

Results going up shortly. Apologies for the delay but a crazy work week!
