Hi all
Julie's email in another topic has reminded me of an issue I have been struggling with.
I have a Specialised Dog Accessories bird thrower that I want to set up for remote control. I have the mechanical side of it sorted (using a crossbow trigger and a solenoid), but am struggling with the electronics.
I am aware that others have used model car/plane/boat electronics for throwers, but the control unit on these is big and clumsy when you are trying to handle the dog and gun so I trying to find a better way.
Has anyone had any experience with using the purpose built electronics from the US for this purpose? I am particularly interested in the Pro Control Remote Release system manufactured by Tritronics (see http://shop.tritronics.com/procontrolrl.html). With the relatively good exchange rates at present these are becoming affordable.
Any advice anyone?
Cheers, Jason.
PS - I think today has been the most active day on the awrc bulletin board since I joined. Good to see everyone!
