NORTHERN SUBURBS DOG TRAINING CLUB
Double Retrieving Ability Test for Gundogs, 15 March 2025
On Saturday 15th March, NSDTC conducted a double “Retrieving Ability Test for Gundogs” at the DogsNSW grounds at Orchard Hills. We originally planned on having two judges Ms Angelika Goehring for trial 1 & Mr Bill Frew for trial 2. When the entries closed, we had a massive 67 entries over both trials. We haven’t seen these numbers in a long time. We then needed to add two more judges, Ms Claire Wade for Trial 1 & Ms Lynne Elliott for trial 2.
Then, to top it off, the weather was forecast to be very hot & then subject to DogsNSW extreme weather policy. After some consideration we took the gable to continue with our preparation to run the trial.
With modifications to the running order of the trial, we had all four judges running their test/exercises at the same time. Very confusing to start with but things soon settled down & the remainder of the trial ran smoothly. The maximum permitted temperature of 38 degrees was still a consideration & was due to arrive about 3.00. Due to the judges, stewards & competitors all working together the trials 1 & 2 were finished by 12.15 & the runoffs finished by 12.30.

Wonderful & challenging runs were set by our judges using all retrieving exercises permitted, also using land and water.
50m single mark retrieve
50m walk-up single mark retrieve
70m double mark retrieve
70m double rise retrieve

Overview:
