Guidelines for a COVIDsafe GOLDEN RETRIEVER CLUB OF VICT - Retrieving Trial
1ST MAY, 2021
ATTENDANCE
All attendees, including competitors, judges, volunteers and spectators are responsible for ensuring they:
1. Hold the correct travel permits (if applicable),
2. Are not required to be in isolation, and
3. Are not displaying any COVID-19 symptoms, such as
• fever
• chills or sweats
• cough
• sore throat
• shortness of breath
• runny nose
• loss or change in sense of smell or taste
• headache
• muscle soreness
• stuffy nose
• nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea.
Spectators will be limited to helpers and household members of competitors. They must also check in and have their name and phone number recorded for contact tracing if required.
IF YOU ARE UNWELL, PLEASE STAY HOME AND GET A COVID-19 TEST
All attendees must abide by the latest government directives including travel, social distancing, hygiene and mask wearing.
ARRIVAL AND CHECK IN
If the property gate is closed and you require access OR are going to be a late arrival SMS or call the Trial Secretary on 0412187020. All event attendees will be required to check in immediately on arrival, either at the gate or prior to camp set up or at vetting.

How to check-in:
1. Download and open the Service Victoria app on your smart phone (click below)


2. Scan the QR code and follow the prompts to check-in
3. Submit your details and show the green success tick to a VGC representative
4. A hard copy check in sheet will also be available

GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
• Should you or anyone in your group develop symptoms you MUST immediately isolate away from others and report symptoms to the Trial Manager or COVID Marshall.
• All event attendees are expected to maintain 1.5 meters social distancing for their own safely. Please be polite to our COVID Marshalls if you are asked to move away
• Signage will be displayed to remind attendees of hygiene and social distancing requirements
CAMPING SET UP
• Campsites must be set up at least 1.5 meters apart
• Each campsite should have hand sanitiser available
• Personal equipment should not be shared
• All attendees should bring their own food and drinks
SAFE USE OF MASKS
• All event attendees are required to carry a face mask with them
• Masks must be worn whenever social distancing is not possible
• Emergency replacement masks are available from the Trial Manager if required
• Masks should be changed if they become wet or soiled or hard to breathe through
• Once applied and adjusted, avoid touching the mask especially the front of the mask
• If required, handle the mask by the ear loops or ties
• When not in use, it is recommended using a plastic bag before placing mask in a pocket
• Always use hand sanitiser before and after handling masks
CLEANING
• Disinfectant wipes/spray will be available in toilets and common areas
• Please wipe taps and door handles after use
• Please use hand sanitiser after handling commonly touched surfaces like door handles and taps
• All commonly touched surfaces will be COVID cleaned every 2 hours by volunteers
VETTING
• Social distancing of 1.5 metres MUST be maintained
• Disposable gloves and rubbish bins will be available
• Only entire bitches will be vetted.
• The owner/handler wearing the appropriate PPE will swab the bitch in the presence of the vetting officer.
• After inspection by the vetting officer the swab will be disposed of by the handler in the bin provided.
COVID MARSHALLS
• There will be at least one non-competing COVID Marshall on each day who will be clearly identified
• GRCV representatives (with COVIDsafe training) will also be available visiting each stake during the progress of the competition.

COMPETITION
• Sharing of personal equipment, including but not limited to whistles, gloves, catalogues, pens and coats, is NOT permitted
• Everyone handling equipment or game during competition must wear disposable gloves (use hand sanitiser after removal) OR use hand sanitiser before and after
• Everyone must maintain social distancing rules of 1.5 m or else wear a mask
Gun Stewards, Game Stewards & Judges
• Retrieving equipment must be cleaned prior to starting the stake and at the end of each run
• Rubbish bins with plastic liners, hand sanitiser and disposable gloves will be provided at each run
• Rubbish will be disposed of at the end of each day
• A table will be placed at the control point to ensure social distancing during loading and handling of guns, lead removal/collection and game inspection
• Guns should be wiped down with disinfectant wipes after each competitor
• Game should be placed on the upturned lid of the rubbish bin for examination
• Judges may choose to show competitors the run in small groups or using modified methods, for example, showing the location of the thrower and the fall without showing the mark, to ensure social distancing, fairness and time saving
• Only competitors not eliminated from the competition will be permitted to view the run
Competitors
• Approach the table at the control point when directed
• Use the provided hand sanitiser OR wear disposable glove
• Slip their dog and place lead on the table
• Take the gun and shells from the table and move to the firing point under direction from the judge
• At the completion of the run or at the direction of the judge return to the control point
• Place the game on the upturned lid of the rubbish bin for examination
• Place the gun and shells on the table
• Take the lead and place it on the dog
• Remove gloves (if worn), dispose in bin AND use the provided hand sanitiser
PACK UP
• Competitors are encouraged to help with pack up at the end of each run and stake
• Please ensure hand sanitiser is used before and after touching equipment
• Masks should be worn during pack up when distancing is not possible especially when around the trailer

PRESENTATIONS
• Will take place at the Trial Manager’s discretion when all equipment has been packed up
• Will be held outdoors
• Social distancing MUST be maintained
• There will be no handshakes during presentations
• Sashes and prizes will be placed on a table near the judge for collection by the
• competitors

The GRCV and trial management reserve the right to change any of these guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19 whilst ensuring attendee participation.
Attendees who repeatedly ignore trial management direction may be eliminated from the competition and/or asked to leave the site.
Rude or aggressive behaviour will NOT be tolerated
